Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Hot Influencer LLC ("HotInfluencer", "we", "us") collects when you use hotinfluencer.com, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Words like "Influencer", "Brand" and "Deal Terms" mean the same as in our Terms of Service.

The short version: we collect what we need to run deals and move money safely, we never sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.

1. What we collect

If you joined the launch list. Your email address, whether you're subscribed, when that last changed, and when we sent you the launch email. We only added you after you clicked the confirmation link we emailed you.

If you have an Influencer account.

  • Your email address, name and a securely hashed password (we never store the password itself).
  • Your country, and the ID of the Stripe account you set up to receive payouts, along with whether Stripe has enabled it.
  • The social accounts you add, and how you proved they're yours: the link to the post or profile showing your code. Brands see your verified accounts on your deals.
  • Sign-in records: the time, IP address and browser of each session, and counts of recent sign-in attempts used to block password guessing.

If you are a Brand. Your email address, and if you give them, your company name, country and tax ID (for receipts). You don't need an account; we email you one-time codes to confirm it's you.

About each deal. The Deal Terms, when and how each side accepted them (time, IP address and browser), the work submitted (links, files and notes), approvals, change requests, disputes and decisions, the messages about the deal, and a log of every step. We keep these to run the deal, decide disputes and respond to chargebacks.

Payments. Card and bank details go directly to Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"), our payment processor. We never see or store full card or bank account numbers. Stripe shares with us what we need to run the deal, such as the payment amount, its status, and the last four digits and brand of a card. When you set up payouts, Stripe collects identity and bank details to verify you, under Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Technical data. Our hosting provider records standard request logs (such as IP address, browser and the page requested) to keep the site running and secure. We don't use advertising or analytics trackers.

2. Cookies and browser storage

We use a small number of cookies, all needed for the site to work:

  • a session cookie that keeps an Influencer signed in;
  • a cookie that remembers a Brand verified their email on a deal.

We also store your language choice in your browser. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, so there is nothing to opt out of.

3. How we use it

  • To run the Service: create and deliver deals, take payments, release payouts, send the emails a deal needs, and provide support.
  • To keep it safe: verify who you are, prevent fraud and money laundering, block abuse, and investigate disputes and chargebacks.
  • To meet legal duties: tax, accounting, sanctions and payment rules.
  • To send the launch email, if you joined the launch list. We send only what you asked for, and every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.

If you're in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (running deals and payouts), our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, handling disputes), legal obligations (tax and payment records), and your consent (the launch list, which you can withdraw at any time).

4. Who we share it with

We never sell your personal data or share it for advertising. We share it only with:

  • The other side of your deal. The Brand sees the Influencer's name and the deal details; the Influencer sees the Brand's email, company name and the deal details.
  • Stripe, our payment processor, which processes card and bank payments and payouts and verifies identities.
  • Cloudflare, which hosts the site, stores our data and files, and sends our emails.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it, or when needed to prevent fraud or protect someone's safety.
  • A buyer of our business, if HotInfluencer is merged or sold, under this policy.

5. How long we keep it

  • Launch list: until you unsubscribe or we close the list. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address marked as unsubscribed, only so we never email you again.
  • Sign-in attempt counts: about a day. Expired sessions: 30 days. Email links: 7 days after they expire.
  • Accounts: while the account is open. When you delete it, we delete your password, sessions and email links, replace your email address and name, delete drafts, unpaid offers and files you uploaded but never sent, and stop emailing you. The other side of a paid deal then sees "Deleted account" instead of your name.
  • Deal and payment records: 5 years after the deal ends, because tax law, payment network rules and chargeback deadlines require it. This includes paid deals with their terms, the work delivered, messages, payments and the log of each step, even after you delete your account.
  • Payment notifications from Stripe: in full for 90 days after we process them, then only their ID, type and status.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to show you, correct, export or delete your personal data, or to stop using it for a purpose.

Influencers can do most of this themselves under Account in the app: change your name, download a copy of everything we hold about you (a machine-readable JSON file), or delete your account. We email you a code to confirm it's you before a download or a deletion. You can delete your account once no deal holds money, has a payment arriving or has an open chargeback.

Brands, and anyone else, email privacy@hotinfluencer.com from the address you used with us, and we'll reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm it's you first.

Some deal and payment records can't be deleted while the law or a pending dispute requires us to keep them (see section 5); we'll tell you if that applies. Your identity and bank details for payouts are held by Stripe: ask Stripe for those under Stripe's Privacy Policy.

If you're in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, you can also object to processing based on our legitimate interests and complain to your local data protection authority. If you're a California resident, you have the right to know, delete and correct your personal information and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We don't sell or share personal information as California law defines those terms.

7. Where your data is processed

We're based in the United States, and our providers process data in the United States and other countries. When we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we rely on the safeguards our providers offer, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, single-use links, email codes for Brand actions, and limited internal access. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we'll tell you as the law requires.

9. Children

The Service is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think we have, contact us and we'll delete it.

10. Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll post the new version here and tell account holders by email before the change takes effect.
